NYAB is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the state road network in the Kalix area, ensuring year-round accessibility, safety and functionality. The contract covers both summer and winter maintenance across a total of 859 kilometres of road and builds on a long-standing collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).
The contract is a multi-year maintenance agreement covering ongoing operation and maintenance activities within the contract area. NYAB has been responsible for base maintenance in the area since 2020 and has an established organisation and local presence in place.
The scope includes winter road maintenance, inspections and ongoing measures to ensure that the state road network maintains a high level of functionality and accessibility throughout the year. The work requires close planning, a high level of preparedness and strong local knowledge.
The contract demonstrates NYAB’s capability to deliver long-term road maintenance through local presence, established working methods and close collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration. The continued contract period builds on experience and knowledge gained from previous years of delivery in the area.
